Taipie Pailing Rotary WCS Activity Report
" Donation of a Mini-Van to Angel Development Center" -- By
Rtn. S. J., Int'l Chair On Oct. 18, 2006, Taipei Pailing Rotary Club launched a WCS activity at the" Angel Development Center" in Taoyuan County, by donating a much needed mini-van.
Mr. Aaron Wei, President of Taipei Pailing RC led 35 club members, plus 2
club secretaries,arrived at the gate of the Center where a group of students and teacherswere singing and dancing in welcoming the guests.
The Center is located at BaTeCity, so the mayor was invited to wittness the
donation celemony,in which a key of the mini-van was presented to Father Duan, the executiveofficer of the Center. A red ribon was cut, and the mini-bus was startedsmoothly. Some of the Center'sphysical and mentally isabled children were invited to board the brand new van. They all climbbed in and out of the van with happy smiles. The celemony was completed with an atemosphere of happiness and degnity.
Reporters from the media, including the ChinaTimes, the Liberty Times and
other local TV stations interviewed President Wei at the celemony. An
article was printed in the China Times next day reporting the event in details echoing an effort to urge the public to offer helping hands to those needy groups in our society.
During the donation celemony, all participating members were deeply touched by the scene of a group of happy disabled children singing and dancing
around the new mini-van. Warm tearsof passionwere spotted behind the glasses of President Wei.
The donation is quite international, as it represents the caring hands from
Taipei Pailing RC and her sister clubs: Osaka Otemai RC, HongKong Tolu
Habour RC, Philipino Sampaloc RC and Korean Namtemun RC, as well as PP Me and Rtn. Lica. |
